Missile event in Samara area, Russian Federation on Sat 15th August 2026
15th August 2026
This morning, Ukrainian FP-5 "Flamingo" cruise missiles struck the "Progress" Rocket Space Centre in the city of Samara.
At least two impacts were reported. This facility is reportedly linked to Russia's satellite constellation efforts (by producing rockets used to launch satellites into space), which have been ramped up since Starlink was cut off in February 2026.
This is the first successful Ukrainian Flamingo strike in nearly a month, after several unsuccessful attacks that saw all missiles being shot down by Russian air defence and aviation.
