SAA event in Mexico on Mon 10th August 2026

Members of the National Guard arrested eight armed individuals after a chase and shootout in the Scally sector of Los Mochis, Sinaloa. The public safety operation concluded when the assailants' vehicle crashed into a tree, at which point Federal Forces neutralized the attack. Four of those involved were injured and received emergency medical attention. The Sinaloa State Public Security Secretariat preliminarily identified four of those detained as Luis Ángel “N”, Ángel Humberto “N”, Christian Alberto “N”, and Daniel Alexis “N”. This urban area has previously seen institutional security operations against criminal cells operating in the municipality of Ahome, affecting economic stability and asset protection in the area. At the scene, authorities seized firearms and the vehicle involved. The Interinstitutional Group cordoned off the area so that the State Attorney General's Office could collect evidence and open the corresponding investigation.
