IED event in Mexico on Thu 13th August 2026

In actions aimed at protecting assets, maintaining public order, and ensuring citizen security in Nayarit, members of the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA), the National Guard, and the State Police arrested an armed individual in the municipality of Huajicori. The operation took place during preventive patrols in the region. Authorities seized a Barrett rifle, four long guns, magazines, ammunition, two improvised explosive devices, a tactical vest, and a drone jammer used to interfere with aerial technology from the detainee. Our team on the scene confirmed the security deployment by federal authorities following the operation. The detainee and the weapons were placed in the custody of the Attorney General's Office for further legal proceedings.
