Man Killed by Unknown Assailants in Plateau

A 45-year-old man, identified as Mr Mabur Simon, has been killed by unidentified persons in Maori Village, Mbar District of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A military source told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:20 a.m. on August 12, 2026, when troops of Sector 5, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), responded to a report of an attack and killing in the community.

The troops mobilised to the village and confirmed that the incident had occurred. The circumstances surrounding the killing remain unclear, while security personnel have commenced investigations to identify those responsible and establish the motive behind the attack.

The investigation is ongoing, as troops continue to maintain vigilance in the area to prevent further incidents and reassure residents of their safety.
