On 31 July 2026, an explosive carried by a drone detonated in a swimming pool at a property in Complexo da Penha, in Rio de Janeiro’s North Zone. The Military Police said officers were called to the area and initially concluded that criminals were testing drones carrying explosives when one device fell near the people operating them.
