Literally "Vikna-novyny": "Journalist Anastasia Vilkhova, cameraman Oleksandr Dubyna and the military hid and crawled across the field for about 40 minutes until they were evacuated. This became known from the words of Anastasia herself. One of the drones hit a pickup truck, which they managed to leave behind."
Details : No one was reported injured.
The IMI clarified that there were three military personnel with the journalists.
This happened on the morning of August 6. The media personnel were driving in a military pickup truck to the positions of the artillerymen of the 147th separate artillery brigade, where they were supposed to film a report.
At around 5 a.m., as the car was driving along an empty highway, one of the soldiers spotted their car on a drone detector. Everyone quickly abandoned the vehicle and ran across the field.
"We all run away. This drone circles, and then flies right at our car, leaving us without communication, Starlink, everything went bang. The car starts to smoke. There's a second drone there, two of them flying. And it's all at dusk, not dead night, but still dark," Vilkhova said.
According to her, it was about 3 kilometers to the nearest landing site, and much more to the unit's deployment location, but it was dangerous to walk this distance through open terrain, so they chose to crawl deeper into the field.
"After a few minutes, maybe seven, the drones started flying again. The guys destroy one drone, destroy the second, and you lie there, thinking: damn, is it above you or not above you? And the five of us crawl across this field," Vilkhova recalled.
About 40 minutes after the attack began, the group heard a car on the highway. According to Vilkhova, it was soldiers from the same 147th OABr, who saw a damaged car on the road and decided to check what had happened.
They evacuated the film crew and three soldiers to a safer location.
