On 3 August 2026, an IED planted by suspected Al Shabaab detonated an IED targeting the gate of an unoccupied house in the Hawlwadaag neighborhood of Baidoa town (Baydhaba, Bay). The device was attached to the main gate of the residence, and the explosion partially damaged the gate.
