On 18 August 2021, an unidentified armed group set a brick factory on fire, leaving an IED behind them that they detonated upon the arrival of the Iraqi army in Abu Khamis village south of Buhriz in Diyala province. As a result 4 soldiers were wounded and no fatalities were reported.
