On 7 August 2026, in Win Ga Ya village (Katha township, Katha district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped bombs with a fighter jet and an MI-35 helicopter around 6 pm without an armed clash occurring, which fell and exploded at a monastery. A 35-year-old woman was killed and her husband was severely injured in his leg. A buffalo and a cow were killed. The monastery was damaged. 1 fatality.
