On 1 August 2026, an Israeli drone struck a gathering of Palestinians on Abu Arif street in Deir al Balah (Deir El Balah, Gaza Strip), killing 1 person [succumbed to his wounds the same day]. The IDF stated that they targeted a commander in the Nukhba unit of the PIJ who took part in the 7 October 2023 attack and was involved in holding an Israeli captive, in this strike. Another airstrike struck a house in the Al Mahatta area in the same location, killing 1 person and injuring another. Additionally, an Israeli drone struck the vicinity of the Ramzoun area in the same location, injuring several people. Total fatalities were 2. This event occurred in a Hamas-controlled area of the Yellow Line.
