On 4 August 2026, at around 2:00 AM Muscat time, a suspected Iranian (coded as IRGC by default) fired a projectile (coded as missile based on recent activity) that directly impacted the Liberian-flagged Minoan Pioneer bulk carrier (IMO: 9471630) off of the Coast of Khasab (Khasab, Musandam) in the Strait of Hormuz, around 20 nm northeast of Khasab. The attack caused a large fire on the vessel. At least one crew member went missing. Casualties unknown.
