On 6 August 2026, in the morning, a group of women and children traveling on a cart struck an IED planted by an armed group (likely JNIM based on previous attacks in the area, modus operandi, and the militant group's activity) in the village of Berta (Saloba, Macina, Segou), resulting in the deaths of approximately 10 people, including 9 women and 1 child. The victims were on their way to offer condolences to the families of two residents who were killed by JNIM militants on 3 August 2026 in the village of Sarro (coded separately). 10 fatalities coded.
