Yesterday Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) repelled a heavy attack by suspected militia members in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident occurred at about 3:51 p.m. on Aug. 9 in Rangai village, Mangu Halle District.

In the ensued gun battle, troops gun-down one of the attackers and recovered two locally fabricated AK-47 rifles.

The Militia was identified as the current Secretary of the Mangu Youth Movement.
