The Ministry of Health strongly condemned the attack on the crew of the Cluj County Ambulance Service, which took place in the commune of Recea-Cristur, during an intervention for a patient. The doctors and the ambulance driver were attacked with sticks, axes, and stones, and the driver suffered serious injuries.The interim Minister of Health, Cseke Attila, emphasized that the healthcare system needs calm and trust, not aggression fueled by disinformation. The incident was triggered by false rumors about "black ambulances" that would steal children, spread on social media platforms. The Department for Emergency Situations has opened a criminal case and initiated investigations to establish the circumstances of the attack.The DSU warned about the dangers of disinformation, which can lead to violence against emergency crews. The Ministry of Health reiterated the importance of protecting medical crews and emphasized that attacks on them endanger not only the staff but also the patients who need help.
