A student opened fire at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province, north of Bangkok, Thailand, this morning, August 7, resulting in deaths and injuries, Thai authorities said.

Police confirmed that the shooter was a student at the school, while the exact number of fatalities could not yet be confirmed, Lt. Col. Pasakorn Chaitawiwong, superintendent of Plai Bang Police Station, told Reuters.

Initial reports indicate that around 15 to 20 people were injured and at least two were killed, with numbers expected to rise further.
