4th August 2026
Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and joint revolutionary forces completely captured Shwe Bhone Myint village in Shwegu Township, Kachin State, yesterday evening, a KIA military source told Khit Thit Media.
At around 5:30 PM on August 3, KIA and KPDF revolutionary joint forces completely attacked and seized the military camp in Shwe Bhone Myint village, forcing junta forces to flee in haste without even rescuing their wounded troops during the battle.
After losing Shwe Bhone Myint village, the military junta retaliated with air strikes, carrying out a first bombing run at 1:20 AM on August 4 using a jet fighter from Tada-U Air Base, followed by a second bombing run at 1:24 AM from the same base.
Furthermore, at 1:27 AM today, additional jet fighters arrived from Naypyidaw Air Base, resulting in a total of four air strikes conducted by three jet fighters, according to the source.
