On 8 August 2021, in Waingmaw township (Mohnyin district, Kachin state), the military battalion 58 fired artillery shells at the residential wards for the whole day and night and forced locals to hide. Some houses were hit and some Covid-19 patients in the area to flee from treatment centers. Casualties unknown.
