The Attorney General of Chiapas, Jorge Luis Llaven Abarca, announced the dismantling of a Sinaloa Cartel cell following the arrest of nine hitmen involved in the execution of eight people whose bodies were found along the Jitotol-Bochil highway, near the border with the municipality of El Bosque.

According to state investigations, the main line of inquiry points to a dispute over control of drug trafficking networks in the area. The arrest of the hitmen—identified as Daniel Alberto, Jesús Miguel, Rafael Alexander, Anthoni Josué, Carlos, Rolando René, Felipe de Jesús, José Iván and Josué—was achieved through the deployment of a special ministerial investigation group that had the operational support of federal forces.

According to the autopsy reports conducted by forensic experts, the cause of death for the eight victims was acute hemorrhage secondary to gunshot wounds to the head; in other words, they were executed.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has formally identified and released the remains of five of the deceased to their families.

• Fabián de Jesús “N” and Luis Enrique “N”, originally from La Concordia.
• Erick Osvaldo “N”, originally from San Fernando.

Meanwhile, three more bodies—those of two women and one man—remain unidentified at the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) facilities in Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Prosecutorial authorities have issued a call for relatives of missing persons to come to the institution and provide biological data that may facilitate their identification.

As a result of the search and arrest warrants, law enforcement officers seized a considerable amount of evidence demonstrating the operational capacity of the criminal cell. The seized material includes:

• 29 firearms, including AK-47 and R-15 assault rifles, handguns and magazines of various calibers.
• Camouflage vests and clothing 24 sets of steel handcuffs
• Plastic glitter bags Ponchallantas.
• Three motor vehicles
• Multiple cell phones
• Radio communication equipment
• Drones for surveillance tasks
• Bags containing dried herb similar to marijuana
• Ready doses of cocaine
• Miscellaneous documentation

Prosecutor Llaven Abarca emphasized that the legal process will follow its formal course to ensure that those allegedly responsible face the corresponding penalties for the crime of aggravated homicide. Likewise, the official stressed the institutional commitment coordinated with the State Peace Council, headed by Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar, warning that there will be no impunity for actions that threaten the peace of the state.
