An armed attack carried out during a wake in the town of Tzintzimeo, in the municipality of Álvaro Obregón, Michoacán, left three people dead and four others injured, according to reports confirmed by the State Public Security Secretariat.

The incident took place on Miguel Hidalgo Street in the aforementioned community, where a group of people had gathered to pay their respects to the body of a mechanic who had been murdered a few days earlier.

According to initial police reports, a convoy comprising several armed men arrived unexpectedly at the premises and opened fire directly on those present, prompting the deployment of the emergency services.

Two adult men and a 12-year-old boy were killed during the attack; in addition, four people were injured, including a seven-year-old girl who was shot in the leg.
