A military column shot and killed 16-year-old Ko Wai Yan Phyo and burned down Myohoung Village in Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, a local source told Khit Thit Media.

On July 28, a military column originating from Yebyu Township raided Myohoung Village and looted valuables from homes at will. As the troops were leaving the village, 16-year-old Ko Wai Yan Phyo arrived on a motorcycle, encountered the column head-on, and was shot dead.

On July 29, the same military column returned to Myohoung Village from Khamaungtaung Village and set fire to civilian homes.

The military column also raided Taungminpyaung Village and stole high-value property from local residences.

Currently, thousands of residents from Khamaungtaung, Hteintwin, Taungminpyaung, and Myohoung villages remain displaced and are fleeing to safer areas due to the military column's operations.
