One killed in shooting at terrorist army troops landing at Maliwan Tay Phyu on Thailand-Myanmar border

The Kawthaung Township People’s Defense Force announced today that it fired on two military vehicles that had entered Maliwan Tay Phyu, Kawthaung Township, Tanintharyi Region. On August 3rd, at around 10:00 am, two large boats arrived at the mouth of Maliwan River from Kawthaung and attacked Maliwan Tay Phyu with heavy weapons and two speedboats.

A local said, “Nowadays, the use of the Palakafa is more common here than in the militia. The ones who die and those who get hurt are members of those groups.” The deceased was identified as Kyaw Min Naing, a member of the Public Security and Counter-Terrorism Force, and the injured soldier, Maung Zaw, is receiving treatment at the 100-bed hospital, according to the Kawthaung Township Public Defense Team. This attack was carried out jointly by the Tanintharyi Region (PKK) Combat Battalion and the Kawthaung Township (PKK).
