Four civilians killed in Kyabingkauk Township in one month after militants opened fire on military convoys, forcing at least ten villages to flee

A three-hundred-strong terrorist army column has been advancing into Kyabingkauk Township, Bago Region since July 7, killing some civilians and burning down villages, according to a local source. The terrorist army, which is stationed in Minwa Village and Kyakhattan Village, Kyaw Bin Kauk Township, announced on August 3 that civilians in Chaung Kwa Village could return to their homes.

A local explained that on the morning of August 4, when the militants fired on three villagers returning from the Myokai Monastery, Ko Pauksa was killed, one was arrested, and the other escaped. “Three villagers, unable to stay in the village, went to sleep at the Myokai village monastery. When they went to sleep, they returned at almost five in the morning. When the three returned, they advanced in line and shot and killed a villager (Ko Pauk Sa). One of them was captured by the Ma Tha Beu. They returned to Myokai village from the Myokai monastery.”

According to a local, the terrorist army buried the dead Ko Pauksa near the top of Myo Kaing village, near the dam bridge, and said that they would release the arrested local man if he gave five militia members. “The issue of the five-person ransom request is that the person who was arrested is an honest man, and there are people from the military community in Myokai village. The military community called and said that this person was not involved in the revolution but was an ordinary person. When the military community called the dog side to release him, the dog side said that they would exchange five people for one.”

According to a local, the terrorist army killed U Kyi Soe (58 years old), U Sein Shwe (67 years old), a stroke victim, and Ma Moe Thita (33 years old) from Yon Chaung village between July 8 and July 25 in Ma Kyat Khattan village. Similarly, on July 19, 14 houses in Myokai Village and one house in Myokai Keut Thit were burned down, and on July 25, two people from Kan U Village were arrested, and on July 27, three people from Ey Village were arrested, the local resident added. Since the terrorist army column entered Kyaw Pin Kauk Township on July 7, people in villages such as Kwee The Village, Kwee Te Village, Kyauk Kone Village, Tha Khut Pin Village, Min Village, Sein Chaung Village, Kya Khat Tan Village, Myo Kaing Village, Myo Kaing Keut Thit, Tha Yet Kone Village, Kyun Taw Su Village, Myo Kaing Sha, Yon Chaung Village, Chaung Kwa Village, Ey Ywa Lay Village, Nya Yon Gyi Village, and Kan Oo Village have been fleeing.
