Several majors and commanders killed in southern Chin state due to counter-offensive by revolutionary forces

The Chin People's Union/Chin People's Army (CPU/CPA) announced this evening that several majors and commanders have been killed in a counterattack by the revolutionary forces, despite the military's efforts to control Mindat and Kanpetlet townships in southern Chin State, which the rebels have surrendered.

The CPU/CPA reported, along with photographs, that the revolutionary forces had launched a counterattack on the terrorist army’s temporary bases, killing several majors and commanders and seizing weapons and ammunition. (The CPU/CPA did not provide details on the casualties and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.)

Fighting with the terrorist army continued until the end of July, and some prisoners of war and surrendered soldiers were reportedly relocated and returned to their families. The terrorist army columns formed a human wall around two villagers, but the revolutionary army was able to rescue only one of them and return him to his family, while the other was killed by the terrorist army's fire, according to the CPU/CPA.

Due to fierce resistance from the revolutionary forces, the terrorist army, which was attacking the Longshai-Saw road with a large force, retreated with casualties. According to a statement from the CPU/CPA, the terrorist army is trying to reinforce its forces via the Pauk-Kyaukthu-Hti Lin road to take over Mindat Township and Kanpetlet. The terrorist army is reportedly unable to advance further because the revolutionary forces are surrounding it and attacking it.

The terrorist army, which is suffering from the effects of the conflict, has carried out more than 600 airstrikes and heavy weapons attacks on non-military targets in CPU-controlled areas, including towns, villages, religious buildings, schools, and hospitals, from May to July of this year (CPU/CPA). The Chin People's Union and Chin People's Army (CPU/CPA) expressed their sincere gratitude to the revolutionary forces fighting the common enemy, and to the parents and people who conscientiously carried out their duties during the revolution, and paid tribute to the martyrs and wounded heroes who sacrificed their lives in various battles. These attacks are being carried out in collaboration with the Chin People's Army (CPA), Chin Nyi Naung (CB) and other revolutionary allied forces, including the Yaw Region Army (YA) and the YDF.
