On 9 August 2021, in Dagon Myothit (South) township (Yangon-East district, Yangon region), a motorcycle bomb exploded between the Bongyi Kyaung Kwe and Ward 54 bus stops. One police officer died from the explosion and another one was severely injured. The Anti-Fascist Armed Force claimed responsibility for the attack later that day.
