On 26 July 2026, in Long Hkin village tract (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), a landmine planted by an unidentified armed group on the roadside near a monastery in the Hkun Sar Kone area detonated at around 8:20 am. Two vehicles were damaged, and 2 individuals traveling in one of the vehicles were injured, one of whom sustained critical injuries. Khit Thit Media and Shwe Phee Myay News Agency reported that the injured individuals were civilians or passengers, while Kachin News Group reported that they were military soldiers and that 3 military soldiers, including an officer, were injured.
