On 29 July 2026, US and Saudi warplanes (coded as MFOUS as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) conducted airstrikes targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces 24th Brigade (Badr Organization) intelligence unit HQ in Al Muqdadiya district (coded as Al-Muqdadiya city, Diyala), in northeastern part of Diyala province, destroying the site, vehicles and military equipment as well as weapons. 2 members of the PMF were killed and 8 injured, 3 of whom critically. The attack was condemned by the Iraqi government and the Iraqi National Security Council. Saudi Arabia had earlier accused Iraqi pro-Iranian militias of attempting to strike its petroleum facilities with drones. 8 injured, 2 fatalities.
