On 29 July 2026, afternoon, at around 14:20 UTC, at least 1 unidentified drone struck two gas vessels near the Suez Canal, at the Damietta Port (New Damietta City, Damietta) sparking fires aboard the two vessels. The targeted ships were the US-owned Energos Winter offshore processing ship (IMO: 9256614) and the Greek-operated Gaslog Salem LNG tanker (IMO: 9638915). Corporate operators and Egyptian officials confirmed that all crew members were safely accounted for, with no casualties reported. President Trump attributed the strike to Iran, while no group claimed responsibility for the attack. No casualties.
