On 28 July 2026, suspected FARDC carried out two drone strikes on an M23 position in Nyabiondo (Osso, Masisi, Nord-Kivu). No civilian infrastructure was hit and there were no civilian casualties. The strikes were not claimed. Sources claim that 5 senior M23 commanders, said to have been in a meeting planning military operations, were killed in the strike.
