Around 27 July 2026 (as reported), on the Tibu - La Gabarra road (coded to Tibu, Norte de Santander), a contractor at an electric company was injured after stepping on a landmine planted by an unidentified armed group on the road between the municipalities, at km 25. The victim had a foot and a hand amputated. The area is known for the presence of ELN and FARC dissident. There were no fatalities.
