Elements of the Mexican Navy carried out an operation off the coast of Chiapas, resulting in the interception of three vessels involved in transnational drug trafficking and the arrest of 13 individuals implicated in the trafficking of illicit substances. During the operation, which focused on institutional security and asset protection, a shipment exceeding four tons of cocaine was seized. This action aims to undermine the financial structure and logistical capacity of criminal cells operating in the Pacific maritime corridors. Additionally, in the state of Nayarit, naval personnel repelled an attack involving gunfire. The confrontation resulted in one marine being wounded and one assailant being neutralized. At the scene, a firearm, magazines, and ammunition were seized for the ongoing investigation.
