Rocket event in Lebanon on Tue 4th August 2026

On August 4, 2026, as a result of ongoing security operations targeting smuggling across the northern and eastern borders, an army unit in the Arsal area seized 122mm Grad rockets that had been smuggled from Syrian territory into Lebanese territory. A pickup truck used to transport the rockets was also seized. Two Lebanese citizens, identified as (A.H.) and (M.W.), members of the smuggling network, were arrested. Raids were conducted to locate other members of the network, and ammunition and military equipment were seized. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and an investigation was launched with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
