The military fired artillery at two villages in Phong Pyin Township, injuring two women and destroying homes.

A local revolutionary source told Yangon Times that the military council troops fired heavy weapons at Naung Ryin and Min Yah San Pya villages in Phong Pyin Township, Sagaing Region, injuring two women and destroying their homes.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on July 28, the military council troops stationed on the hill of Shwephone Pwint Pagoda in Phong Pyin Township fired heavy weapons at Naung Ryin Village and Min Yah San Pya Village.

During the shelling, two artillery shells landed in Naung Rin village and one in Min Yah San Pya village, injuring two women and damaging several houses. Additionally, locals said that two cows were killed and two others were injured by artillery shelling.

"The military council fired two artillery shells at Naungrin village and one at Minya Sanpya village. Two women were injured. Houses were also damaged, and two cows were killed and two were injured," said a local revolutionary source. Shwephone Pwint Pagoda Hill in Phong Pyin Township is being used as a firing range by the military council, and frequent shelling of nearby villages continues to cause damage to civilian lives and property.
