40mm artillery shells attack 103rd Battalion and checkpoint on Taungdwin-Pyay road, causing casualties on the military side

Yangon, July 27

An official from the Taungdwinyi (Rocket Fighter) group told Yangon Times that the 103rd Battalion and a checkpoint on the Taungdwin-Pyy road in Taungdwin Township, Magway Region, were attacked with 40 mm artillery shells, resulting in casualties on the part of the terrorist army.

On July 25, at around 8 p.m., the revolutionary forces attacked the 103rd Battalion on the Taungdwin-Pye road and the checkpoints where they were stationed in front of the battalion, collecting fees from tourists and arresting porters. The artillery shells exploded near the 103rd Battalion building, barracks, and military offices, injuring about 20 members of the military council. The wounded were reportedly taken away by the military in ambulances overnight.

"We would like to ask the public not to stay near the military gate. It is known that about 5 military dogs were killed in the attack, but we cannot confirm it exactly. About 20 military dogs were injured," said an official from the Taung Dwin Gyi (Rocket Fighter) group. After the attack, the military returned fire with heavy weapons and small arms until 10:30 p.m., but the revolutionary coalition forces were able to retreat safely without any injuries. The attack was carried out in collaboration with the Taungdwingyi (Rocket Fighter) Group and allied forces, including the Yoma Fighter Regiment, the Magway Taungdwingyi Special Guerrilla Force, and the Magway Southern People's Defense Force.
