The Galon PDF arrested 2 policemen who were left behind from the military column that killed and burned people in Pauk Township, along with their weapons.

An official from the Galun People’s Defense Force told the Yangon Times that the 11th Police Battalion, which was left behind by the terrorist army column that carried out the massacre and burning in Pauk Township, Magway Region, has captured two police officers with their weapons. While the Pakokku-based 101st Army was advancing with a force of about 600 towards the village of Tasharpin in Pauk Township, the two police officers got separated from the line and were lost in the jungle for about 7 days.

On July 7, the two starving and sick police officers approached a nearby resident and asked for rice. The resident fled in fear and reported the matter to the Galung People's Defense Force, who then searched the area and arrested the two starving and sick police officers. During their arrest, they were also seized with one MA-2 gun, one MA-12 gun, eight boxes of ammunition, over 300 bullets, and other military equipment.

"These guys were left behind from the war, starving in the forest and begging for rice from the people, so we searched the forest and arrested them," said an official from the Galun People's Defense Force. Furthermore, as the 600-strong military council column entered to burn the villages, it was hit by mines laid in advance by the defense forces, causing heavy casualties on the military council side and forcing them to retreat in disarray. Regarding this incident, on July 2, the defense forces conducted a clearing operation in the village and recovered an MA-3 rifle, three boxes of ammunition, and additional military equipment that had been abandoned by the military council members.
