At approximately 6:10 a.m. on July 21, the revolutionary forces intercepted a military council column that was marching on foot from the Kyaukpon Taung camp in Bang Law village, Tanintharyi Township, with about 50 troops, between Bang Law and Bang Lin villages, resulting in two exchanges of fire.
The first battle lasted about 10 minutes, while the second lasted about 20 minutes. An official from the Eagle Battalion said that there were casualties on the military council side due to the attack, but the number could not be confirmed.
"There were casualties on the military side. The exact number is not known yet. After being attacked, they immediately retreated to Kyauk Phon Taung camp in pain. They were able to intercept the attack after receiving information and gained the upper hand," an official from the Lingyun Military Division told Yangon New Times.
The attack was carried out by the Eagle Brigade, Strategic (35), of the People's Defense Forces' Operational Area No. 1, and the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw without any casualties.
