On 21 July 2026, suspected Malay Muslim separatists carried out a car bomb attack outside the old Tanyong Police Station in Kaluwo Nuea, Mueang Narathiwat (Narathiwat). The separatists pushed a Toyota Soluna pickup truck loaded with an improvised explosive device toward the police station before remotely detonating it, damaging the station's perimeter wall and setting a parked pickup truck on fire. There were no casualties.
