On 2 August 2021, PKK militants carried out two remote explosive attacks targeting Turkish military units between Gire Sehid Beriwan and Sehid Ciyager areas (Kurdish names) in Haftanin region of Duhok. HPG (PKK) reported that 4 Turkish soldiers were killed in the attack.
