On 21 July 2026, the Nigerian military launched a drone attack on an ISWAP location in Kila Bariya, a remote marshland grid in Sojiri/Nguro-Nguro Ward, coded to Sojiri (Konduga, Borno). The drone killed more than 20 ISWAP fighters and injured several others. It also destroyed their logistics, including more than 30 newly acquired motorcycles and a major ISWAP food storage facility.
