On 19 July 2026, in Ma-Ei village (Toungup township, Thandwe district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped three 500-pound bombs on No.2 ward with a jet fighter at around 11:30 am, without an armed clash occurring. A church and about 20 houses were destroyed. 5 IDPs (a 17-year-old boy, a 19-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man) were killed and 14 civilians (including a 47-year-old monk, two 10-year-old boys, an 11-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, a 22-year-old woman, a 23-year-old woman, a 55-year-old man, a 64-year-old woman, a 66-year-old woman, a 49-year-old man and two 64-year-old men) were injured. 5 fatalities.
