On 21 July 2026, a suspected IED belonging to unidentified assailants exploded and destroyed a Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Bailey bridge over the Namban Lok River between Phange and Chatric villages (coded to Chatric village, Kamjong, Manipur), amidst ongoing ethnic tensions in the state. Villagers accused Kuki militants for the attack and Khanuithot-Khon (Voice of the Naga Youth) accused Assam Rifles of assisting Kuki militants. However there was no confirmation and no outfit claimed responsibility. There were no casualties.
