On 24 July 2026, time of the day unclear, Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched a missile and drone attack that directly impacted the US forces-hosting Al Azraq Air Base (Muwaffaq Salti Air Base) (Az Zarqa, Az Zarqa), targeting aircraft hangars, aircraft maintenance hangars, and housing for soldiers of the US Army. Satellite imagery confirms a direct impact point at the site. The IRGC claimed that several fighter jets sustained heavy damage. On the same date, Jordanian forces intercepted 7 missiles and 6 Arash drones that were launched by IRGC forces (coded separately).
