On 24 July 2026, between 9:32 am and 9:45 am, coalition forces intercepted 1 drone launched by unspecified forces (likely linked to Iranian-backed groups due to ongoing hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran) near Gezne village (Erbil, Erbil). As a result of the interception, shrapnel fell on brush and grassland in the area, causing a fire. Casualties unknown. The coalition forces intercepted a total of 5 drones in the same timeframe (coded as a separate event). The attacks were launched from the outskirts of the Mosul district in Ninewa.
