On 20 July 2026, likely evening, Iranian forces (coded IRGC by default) fired Kamikaze drones that directly impacted the US forces-hosting Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base (Al Ahmadi), destroying an AN/FPS-117 long-range radar. The IRGC claimed the attack stating it targeted troop housing facilities, an early warning radar, a missile defense radar system, an FPS-117 radar, a Patriot defense system, and an air defense satellite communication system at the base, but this was not corroborated by other sources.
