On 19 July 2026, afternoon, U.S. forces attacked unspecified targets in Abadan city (Abadan, Khuzestan), causing an explosion (coded as an air/drone strike by default). In the evening, U.S. forces carried out a missile strike in the area around Abadan. According to U.S. officials, the strikes were in retaliation for Iranian military attacks against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz in the days prior (coded separately). No casualties.
