On 14 July 2026, the Malian army and Africa Corps claimed to have conducted airstrikes on a refuge used by armed militants (likely JNIM, based on the presence of the militant group in the area and previous similar operations in the region) in a wooded area between Bougouni and Kadiana, coded to Zimpiala (Kolondieba, Kolondieba, Sikasso) a midpoint on the road between the two locations. Several militants were neutralized (meaning killed), and equipment was destroyed. Unspecified fatalities coded as 3.
