IED event in Kuwait on Fri 17th July 2026

On 17 July 2026, night, IRGC forces launched an unspecified number of Arash suicide drones and missiles directly impacting several locations in Kuwait, including unspecified US and Kuwaiti sites and bases in the country (coded to Kuwait City) (Al Asimah). The IRGC claimed to have destroyed High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) platforms and missiles belonging to US forces. The IRGC also said the attack was carried out in retaliation for recent US strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure, including telecommunications and railway networks. The Kuwaiti army said that its forces intercepted several Iranian missiles and drones, but the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy said that an unspecified electricity generation and an unnamed water desalination plant was targeted and struck in the latest attack, resulting in fire and damage to the site. There were no casualties.
