On 15 July 2026, Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) fired missiles targeting US military objectives at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base (Az Zarqa), injuring approximately 20 US soldiers. There were no casualties. The IRGC claimed to have targeted areas housing F-18 fighter jets and large equipment hangars at the base, but this was not corroborated by other sources. The IRGC said that the attacks were in response to recent U.S. strikes on Iran. Jordanian authorities said that they downed 3 Iranian missiles in unspecified locations.
