On 16 July 2026, morning, U.S. forces conducted air/drone strikes in the Parchin military complex (Pakdasht, Tehran), causing multiple explosions and triggering Iranian air defense activity. Iranian authorities denied that any strikes or impacts occurred, stating that the explosions were solely the result of air defense operations. The airstrikes by the US were a retaliation for the Iranian military attack against commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz (coded separately). Casualties unknown.
