On 12 July 2026, time of day unclear, an unnamed pro-Iran militia and/or Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched an aerial attack (likely armed drones) that directly impacted 3 military border posts belonging to the Kuwaiti National Guard forces in northern Kuwait (coded to Al Jahra governorate center Al Jahra), causing material damage. There were no casualties. Kuwaiti authorities claimed this attack, which occurred in concert with a drone attack on an offshore oil rig belonging to the Kuwait Oil Company (coded separately), originated from 'Iran and Iran-backed militias in Iraq'.
