On 12 July 2026, time of day unclear, an unnamed pro-Iran militia and/or Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched a drone attack that directly impacted an offshore oil rig belonging to the Kuwait Oil Company at an unspecified location in Kuwaiti territorial waters (coded to Coast of Al Asimah), injuring 1 worker and causing material damages. Kuwaiti authorities claimed this attack, which occurred in concert with an aerial attack on three northern border posts (coded separately), originated from 'Iran and Iran-backed militias in Iraq'.
